A free love calculator that's honest about being nonsense

MatchMeter is a free love compatibility calculator that turns two names into an instant match score. Type in your name and a crush's, a friend's, or a celebrity's, and you get a percentage plus a breakdown across communication, trust, chemistry and long-term potential — all calculated in your browser in a split second.

It is not a real relationship test and it makes no claim to be. It's a name compatibility game built for laughs with friends, siblings and group chats that need something to argue about. The same two names always produce the same result, so nobody can accuse you of re-rolling until you got the score you wanted.

That consistency is the whole trick: because the score is derived from the letters of the two names, it behaves like a tiny, deterministic fortune teller. Screenshot it, send it, and let someone else discover they scored 12% with the person they've been texting all week.

How the score is calculated

The letters of both names are combined into a number, which is turned into four category scores. The overall percentage is the average of those four, so the breakdown always adds up.

Does name order matter?

No. The two names are sorted before scoring, so “Alex + Jordan” and “Jordan + Alex” give exactly the same result every time.

Using it as a party game

Run every pair in the room, write the scores on paper, and let the group defend or dispute the verdicts. It's a fast icebreaker with zero setup.
